Trail Tips
In our experience, entrepreneurship and hiking have so much in common – the challenges, the joys, the camaraderie, and the views. Here are a few hiking terms that are on our mind this month as we think about our own entrepreneurial journeys.
Beta – insider information from a fellow hiker. Asking others who have been on the journey before or who have experienced something similar can be a great way to get unique insight into your own challenges and potential solutions. Additional information or learning how someone else managed through a tough section can be helpful in generating a solution that will work for you.
Bushwhacking – traveling off-trail through dense shrubs and trees. When you find yourself in a new or challenging situation within your entrepreneurial journey, it might feel like you are fighting through the overgrowth, moving slowly, and unsure of whether you are going the right way. Whether you're actually forging a new path or just encountering one that is new to you, bushwhacking can be exhausting - both physically and mentally. Allow time to recover, and take that trek with support if you can – whether that's actively finding a partner to collaborate with, having people on stand-by who can encourage you, or asking a mentor to serve as your "eye in the sky," helping you find your way.
Who is someone you can connect with this month for beta, or to help you as you bushwhack in your business?
