Living the E Life
Last month we dove into the the first of 10 mindsets that we've found to be essential as mental performance entrepreneurs. When embraced, these mindsets lead to your success, fulfillment, well-being, and ability to make a positive impact on others.
Here's mindset #2:
Protect the asset – YOU.
Your business doesn't work unless you do - and by "work," we don't mean exhausting yourself by constantly burning the candle at both ends. Sure, as an entrepreneur there's always work to be done to build your business and create the life you want - and, if you let it, the business will take over (ask us how we know!).
One of the biggest lessons we've learned is how important it is to take care of yourself as the biggest asset within your business. Spoiler alert: your best asset is not your laptop, your social media following, or your client list - it's YOU. You are the thing that wears many hats, provides services, builds relationships, and leverages all that you know into creating something uniquely impactful for your ideal clients.
Without you functioning well, none of that is possible long-term, and doing good work (mindset #1) falls by the wayside.
Instead of "pushing through" like our athlete brains often tell us, consider what will help you protect the asset. For most of us, it includes practices like prioritizing our sleep and health, setting boundaries, engaging in hobbies, and intentionally scheduling business-free time. What do you want to commit to doing on a regular basis to keep you at your best and ultimately make your business and life as an entrepreneur sustainable?
Key Takeaway: You are the business. Take care of you first.
