About Project E

Project E is an entrepreneurial resource for mental performance coaches on your journey into and through business ownership. We help you navigate the 4Es: explore whether or not private practice is right for you, establish your business, elevate your business practices, reach, and impact, and evolve over time. We are committed to helping mental performance entrepreneurs experience growth, freedom, and fulfillment so that you can maximize your impact on others.

Our Story

In 2019, Lindsey was looking for a local mental performance coach to take over any urgent service requests while she was bringing new life into the world. After being introduced previously by a colleague, Abby agreed. Months, years, and babies later, we became friends who have uncanny parallel lives. Unlikely, right? Despite both of us being mental performance practitioners in the metro Atlanta area, we chose connection and collaboration over competition. Best decision ever.

During one of our chats about the challenges of being parents and entrepreneurs, we realized that the "it takes a village" mentality isn't just for parenthood. This was a defining moment - one where we realized we needed to create our entrepreneurial village.

In March 2022, we started a super-special entrepreneur group, Evolve. We wanted a way to regularly connect with other female entrepreneurs in sport psychology and mental performance to support, challenge, and encourage evolution in our businesses. (Shout out to Alex Thompson, Amanda Ferranti, Anna Hennings, Hayley Hughes, and Katy Tran Turner – you’re the best!) It was (and still is) fun, collaborative, and rewarding. We help each other see blind spots, discuss ideas, share experiences and best practices, and feel more confident taking on business challenges. No more going at it alone.

While being an entrepreneur holds so much possibility and freedom, it also holds a lot of risk and uncertainty, and it can feel pretty lonely at times. We want Project E to be your place. Your go-to resource. Your community of other like-minded dreamers, creators, and innovators in our field. You may have noticed, there’s not much out there for us. That needed to change. So, here it is.

We've created Project E as a collaboration between our businesses, Intrepid Performance Consulting and Athlete's Academy, and we're on a mission to be the go-to resource for mental performance coaches - like you - as you navigate your entrepreneurial journey. We're committed to providing critical information, time-saving tools and tactics, and targeted support along the way - and we're just getting started.

Abby Keenan, MS, CMPC

(she/her)

Mental Performance Coach, Entrepreneur, & CMPC Mentor

After an eclectic path as a summer camp staff member, collegiate academic advisor, challenge course facilitator, cognitive performance coach for US Army Special Operations, non-profit communications specialist, and sales rep for a wedding photography company, Abby started her private practice, Intrepid Performance Consulting, LLC, with her husband in 2015. She has experience working with individuals, groups, teams, and organizations; negotiating and winning contracts; establishing and maintaining partnerships; developing curriculum; fulfilling media requests; and doing mental performance work in-person and online. Abby specializes in helping high-achieving teenage student-athletes (especially swimmers and runners) understand and manage performance anxiety and perfectionism through online, one-on-one mental skills coaching. She has been a contributing author for three textbooks and has delivered over 40 conference presentations, many on her favorite topics of reflection, mentorship, youth sport, and entrepreneurship.

Abby is also involved with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) as she is passionate about professional development and standards. She has chaired two committees (Web Presence & Webinars/Virtual Conference), is an active member of the Business Ownership and Study & Practice of Supervision Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and the Foundation Endowment Oversight Subcommittee, has been a subject matter expert for the CMPC Certification Exam Review process and the recent CMPC Job Analysis revision, and has been a part of two organization-wide strategic planning sessions.

In her down time, she loves running, hiking, and spending time outdoors with her family. She's a music enthusiast, recovering perfectionist, and one of the most detail-oriented and conscientious people you'll ever meet. You'll often find her cooking, practicing yoga, re-learning Spanish, and organizing - literally anything.

Abby has invested countless hours into becoming an entrepreneur, developing professionally, and improving her business in order to maximize her impact, flexibility, and fulfillment. She embraces "wearing many hats" and figuring out how to make it all work - as an entrepreneur, coach, mentor, mom of two young boys, wife, and more. She is a frequently sought-out resource in the field of sport psychology for graduate students and professionals who are looking to establish or elevate their private practice, and she can’t wait to support you on your entrepreneurial journey!

Lindsey Schriefer, PhD

(she/her)

Mental Performance Coach, Licensed Psychologist, & Entrepreneur

Dr. Lindsey Swanson Schriefer (Sh-ree-fer) is a licensed psychologist in the state of Georgia. Despite taking a more "traditional" schooling route, she always knew that her heart was taking her on an entrepreneurial path. As a result, Dr. Lindsey stepped out on her own and opened her own private practice, Center for Psychological Performance, Inc. in 2016. She currently provides both clinical services and sport performance services. On the clinical side, Dr. Lindsey provides comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for individuals over the age of five to address difficulties within the academic setting and diagnose ADHD, learning disabilities, and other mental or emotional challenges. However, her true passion is in working with athletes, business professionals, and other performance specialists to develop their mental skills, enhance their performance, and reach their potential on a consistent basis. Dr. Lindsey does this through her Athlete's Academy, the sport psychology branch of her business. She has worked with individuals, teams, universities, and organizations. Dr. Lindsey specializes in working with elite high school and collegiate athletes to manage emotions, develop and maintain confidence, and create a mental game plan through her custom Mental Mobility programming. Though much of her services are provided one-on-one in a virtual setting, she has also created a unique course, The 10 Essentials, for athletes interested in developing their Mental Mobility on their own.

During her free time (does that even exist anymore?), Dr. Lindsey trains and competes in Olympic weightlifting, reads books, and listens to podcasts. You'll almost always find a sporting event on the TV (especially Cubs or Yankees baseball) and likely something yummy baking in the oven (probably cookies or bread). Dr. Lindsey is a serial student who is always learning something new with current topics being Spanish, watercolor, and bread baking. She also may or may not have an obsession with succulents.

The daughter of a small business owner, Dr. Lindsey has always approached life through the lens of an entrepreneur. From being a referee for youth basketball games on the weekends to working in her dad's shop during school breaks to nannying during summers in college, owning her own schedule, being the decision-maker, and funding her own unique path has been part of life. Today, her entrepreneur journey focuses more on helping others embrace being an entrepreneur and integrating home and business to create a dream life, which can certainly be a challenge as an entrepreneur, business owner, wife, mom of two tiny humans and three four-legged pups, homeschooler, and athlete. She describes it as messy, challenging, and incredibly rewarding.
